It was a bit too late when they had crossed paths both the Devil and God himself were sharing this laugh. the secret he held he dare not share all the while knowing she truly began to care “How should I tell her?” “Perhaps in a rhyme?” are few of the questions that shot through his mind “I wonder what he is doing” “Is he thinking of me?” was all that she could think of insignificant and petty things as the days dragged on he carefully kept his distance knowing deep down inside He’d meet “Good-Bye” with great resistance Love truly makes one selfish So, he kept her at bay never letting her too close nor pushing her too far away Finally he decided to tell her the truth about his fate he went online and found her and sent the rhyme that he had made “This is it” he thought there is no turning back he sat there quietly waiting for her to respond to the facts “A few months later, life as merry as can be. my doctor pulled me to the side, and said “Son, you have H.I.V.”” Those four simple lines shredded her very soul this was his precious secret what he never wanted her to know She sat there speechless and the tears began to fall all the memories they could’ve shared was all she could recall “I’d love you – If I could I’d love you like I should Now you understand… There is no more room to be misunderstood” The final lines of his art is what broke her heart the most both of them knowing they had to part when true love was so close Two persons with one soul chosen to be God’s cruel joke destined to meet only to part born to leave this world both, with each other’s heart This is their story A sad story, indeed Soul-mates who were torn in two victims of Heaven’s greed. There are places in the heart that do not yet exist; suffering has to enter in for them to come to be - LeonBloy |

An interesting and skillful writing, imho. At least he manned up to it, so to speak. Many of either gender these days would probably not---more fool them. I've oft heard it said that adversity "builds character", but that is on a case-by-case basis, and such axioms can be and unfortunately are used as an excuse for terrible foolishness by some spoiled, cruel people, too. The Almighty is magnanimous, but such unjust cruelties are not forgiven quickly. |

Hmmm....I don't know if I'd have enough courage to "man up" if I had been in his shoes. I wouldn't have let this come to be though. I would've carried this burden alone, as my atonement I guess. Indeed it was his selfish acts that brought this sickness upon himself, yet still I could never hate him. @ easy1 Thanx. ![]() -Trina. |

Tough choice no matter which route he chose... enjoyed the read my friend. Nice to see someone from Guam here too...spent two years there in the Navy back in the early 60's and would have stayed if I could have...loved the island and the people I met. Bet I wouldn't know the place anymore though. j. |
