I Saw My Death Coming

ME. In the Shadow of the Mt.

I saw my death coming
Coming around the bend
Riding down the asphalt ribbon
To send me to my final end

A huge machine of twisted metal and steel
Screeching tires and switching gears
Lurching, leaning and picking up speed
It was a culmination of all my fears

I was trapped by fences, surrounded by water
A causeway, nowhere to go
Trembling in my metal coffin,
Waiting for the final blow

Then I saw him in the window
I couldn't believe what I was seeing
Eyes of fire blazing and his evil grin
A black hooded skeletal being

My eyes flew open wide
As a scream tore from my throat
It was only a wicked dream, but
I could still hear him laugh and gloat

Just a nightmare I tell myself
but I know all too well...
He's seen me now and he's waiting
And he's driving eighteen wheels from hell !!

Well done. A dreadful, yet compelling read.
I've had some bad ones, although never from
a roaring, rolling, trucker. Good read.
