Burn My Pain Away

Burn my pain away,
And sing a song that I long for,
A serenade of sighs,
Drawn by the bows of hands on flesh
In the staccato throb of the aching need,
Grip my back,
Rip me open and spill me out
In the torrent of thirsting waters,
I'm one with you,
Press your cheek tighter to my heart,
And drown in me.

Burn my pain away...

'Wailing voices on the wind, urging me to turn. Distant tortured screams. Cold blue fires burn'.

A powerful and original love poem. The combined metaphors of music and water are very strong. Great work.
