Night is an alabaster suicide,
a slow eternity of sorrel orchids, sleepy
beneath a jackal moon,
shining through the pale curtains,
so full of moth holes and tinfoil stars,

suddenly, there are too many vowels in my name,
count the vagrant shades of red in my hair
and you will know what a liar I am, still
full of longing, the body warm
and chambered like a heart,
all wires and threaded light,
a little fever,

and the cupboard bare,
on good days the silverware shakes in the drawer,
predicts hail storms and brush fires
and my mind is a railway car
sideways on a track, a vastness,
steel pinions pushing against my thigh,

rainwater and red wine
in our slim glass flutes,
times like these
you can find a lake inside of me,
a length of copper
and a litany of weathered saints
sitting in a claw foot tub, my legs,
listless, petal heavy,

my hipbone is a bridge halved by the distance,
halved by fiction,
a little fever,
and this humid insomnia
rubbing its palms against my calves,

Oh, how I keep breaking off my heels
to feel the dark with my mouth,
and it leaves me with just a half dozen nouns
for limbs, reddened,

on bad days,
even the low line of clouds
is a cold, borrowed thing, forgotten.

You weave your words so intimately, and through your poetry you take great care to take your readers to the edge.
The view is absolutely breathtaking and the feelings are like a warm rain.

Such a pleasure, bella~
