While lying in the shadows of the night, I turned to watch you sleep Minutes seemed like hours Darkness gave way to a new dawning and many questions filled my mind Silently, I slipped out of bed and knelt beside you In this world of make-believe I found myself praying Thanking God for a friend So sincere and understanding Ours is a friendship brought together by bitter tears, long loney nights and lifes misfortunes Together we are bonded in the quest for a new companionship I know not the ending of this relationship but it has been an encounter of sincerity, comfort and caring. That's sweet. I don't have many poetically inclined friends ; ( Perhaps it's a product of my age, though. I love poems that tell a story, and this is definitely meaningful - even for an outsider reading. |
