She stands tall and proud
Like a Queen before her court
Petals fall, her crown lost.

My mother has a rose garden in her backyard. This sounds like something she would say in describing those that are spent. Nice job.

In the heat of the summer
my own Queens fall to the swelter
the imagery was grand!

How like a queen the rose. I can understand widespread admiration for these thorny plants' blooms...
Wonderful write!

Lovely write. Rose is the middle name of my daughter, granddaughter and great grandaughter.

Thanks guys! I actually found this poem whilst sifting through a pile of old childhood school projects so this must be the best part of 15 years old but I thought there was something quite sweet there. - Anya
