How strange to think the child I birthed is now ready to give birth I remember clearly the urgency, the joy, the fatigue of those days Now I wait, anxious and excited, for word that it’s time The mother in me is anxious and worried and fearful I know the pain she faces and the stress and soreness I remember the aftereffects well Now I wish I could do it for her, take away the pain But the pain is the preliminary to the joy, like no other joy on earth The moment when they put that child in your arms, wet and crying Messy and so very beloved; there are no words to describe that feeling So we wait for Ethan to make his entrance, little king he will be His sister’s doll, his father’s pride, his mother’s joy |

I'm sure everyone is excited and anxious! Nicely written Eldest.. you capture a lot of concern and love as well as anticipation in this. |

Still waiting, yesterday was his due date. My daughter goes to the dr today, so my suitcase is packed and waiting. |
