If it is true that there are as sands Too many to count the blessings as come from thee Would thou not grant me then one that I might find Upon the curve of her cheek the beauty of the sun Or from the swell of her breast the ecstasy as comes When one feels within themselves your will move These are selfish prayers Yet they come from love that moves me to entreat Such ears as yours to hear my simple plea For I do not seek to be rich or over men Only to feel love touch within me those chords As might be felt from the music of stones Or the beat of wave upon shore A low and elemental form of knowing All things speak And in them I hear too your words beseech That there should be among man and woman honor Respect of this flesh shared in pleasure As along her hip his hand might find solace To rest from the toils of day And she might find in his arms a shelter from sun From the eyes of others Who cast their stones at shadows not understood Within the parables And with the voice of Psalms sung to lyre or harp I am moved to think of her as flower Or as the fields that blend among hills A form of greater beauty that leads me closer still to the words these parched lips might form and offer the wind to your ears be carried for I know not songs nor am I of Solomon to carry wise the thoughts and deed to judge with fairness all I am the jaded call of streams who having traveled upon steep slopes find calm Before I am swallowed into salt I can not count the grains Nor move to the mountain or it come to me But hear me oh Lord for still I pray Though my voice be weak among the throngs And my wants, my needs small I know not how strong But know your will be one and great if it belong And I wish ill to none Look only for her grace And my Own. "And in them I hear too your words beseech That there should be among man and woman honor Respect of this flesh shared in pleasure As along her hip his hand might find solace To rest from the toils of day And she might find in his arms a shelter from sun From the eyes of others Who cast their stones at shadows not understood" ^ my favorite part...C M |

"Within the parables And with the voice of Psalms sung to lyre or harp I am moved to think of her as flower" and I am moved to think this is magnificent |

Hello, old friend! How soon time passes while wordly pleasures remain... It is with much happiness I saw your name and read this work. I see your writing, thoughts, and subtlties are as good as ever. I miss "the good old days" and many from "our old crew" here at PIP, but this made me smile remembering. -MVS You CAN make a difference, but first you should learn how: http://educate-yourself.org/intro.shtml [This message has been edited by MARK V SHELDON (07-30-2010 08:51 AM).] |

I'm not much the religious man, but this was a piece most worthy of God's grace. I bow to you and yours. Most excellent in form and substance. Peace. "We'll chase them like rats across the tundra." |

Andrew... I am not much of a religious man either..and the piece was written more to honor a lady than any mans god.... I simply tried to follow a tradition that goes back to Runi and beyond. many thanks for the kind words.. |

What a beautiful piece. I don't see how a woman can read it and not have a part of her feel like she wants to be an answer to a prayer. ebm |

EBM.. I think we all want to be an answer to a prayer in some part of ourself... and I think we have all prayed in our own way as we want to find the answer to ours... I suppose, finding the one to answer such prayers is what a gret deal of etry and literature has been written about.. thank you for the kind eyes on this.. greatly appreciated ma'am |
