Birds walkin' 'round

to stay clear of da sky
and d' hot sun beatin' down

Crick aint even wet

Catfish jus' hangin' on
by swimmin' in dey sweat.

Lawd !  Its hot !

I been wearin''tractive things

Like blue... to draw da skeeters
So's dey kin fan me wid dey wings

Lawd ! Its hot !

Crawdads in da stream
Already been steamed

Lawd !  Its hot !

I'm glad I'm redeemed !
