Now She Only Kisses Me Goodbye

She’d kiss me in the dark of night
Before sleep came my way
She’d kiss me in the morning time
To wake me to the day.

She’d kiss me when I’d leave for work
When I came home at night
When I’d hold her close in my arms
After making love so right.

Now the only time she kisses me
Are in dreams that go awry
Because the last time that she kissed me
Was when she kissed me, “Goodbye.”

There are distances that lips can never cover. Goodbye is one of them. This is melancholy...melancholy.
