http://karil.deviantart.com/art/summertime-dream-167134783 I sit quietly, silently waiting for the sun to rise. The ground is damp, the frogs are quiet. The reeds murmur among themselves, ignoring me. The rocks are showing their turtled backs, backs turned to me. It comes as I wait patiently, the bloody red of the clouds changing from black to blood. Slowly, the blood fades into gold, shimmering on the far shoreline. The tree above me whispers warningly of storms to come. I linger, the "red sky of morning" holding my eyes and my heart. The old ones would say it presages a storm, and they are right. There will be a storm, not here, not now, but soon. The storm in my heart will break on the shores of my life soon. |
