Looking in the mirror, Can’t tell what she sees in me Though I try to understand, I still find it hard to believe That she lays down her trust, And opens up her heart Though I know not why I have someone pretty, sweet and smart I’ll never lose my imperfections, I might even gain a few But because she loves me, I’ll love her that way too And I, with all my imperfections, Of body, mind and soul, Still receive a forgiving love That will be there when I grow old I want to see as she does, To feel as she does, To find out why she loves me; Loves me just because |

There's your answer-just because- there is no rhyme or reason for love, it just is. |

I'm sure your beautiful way with words don't hurt, CG. Sensitive, intelligent women love poets and of course I'm sure you have many other fine attributes that others see better than you can. Ida |

Great poem! It's very well written, insightful, and thought-provoking. I think sometimes others can see in us what we can't see because it's always right there with us, so we constantly look right past it. |

I agree with everyone, a beautiful and thought provoking poem. I believe that while our imperfections make us human, so too does our love. ~Lia |
