When you're gone, I sing for you.
I put my hair up and dance around-
I kick my shoes off and touch the sky
where soft grass and dusk are abound.

I end up at the edge of the creek
singing to the willows and the stones,
harmonizing with the trickle-tickle,
a duet in A minor with sad undertones.

When you're gone, I miss you-
the trees, creek, flowers and sky...
the grass, birds, and the garden do too
but we all sing instead of cry.

And when I say 'good night' to the moon,
I sing in my sleep 'cause you'll be home soon.

Dear Dixie, am I correct in sensing a happier spirit in your poems lately.

That is a lovely poem Dixie, a pleasure to read, Keep them coming. Love and a big hug.

Dixie, I always thought of you as the most wonderful country singer, your poems always having the perfect balance and pitch.

I can so see you singing this. What a nice vision that really is.
