On a chill evening, I will clear the dinner, while children laugh in velvet dusk outside- I rattle, clang displeasure. Silence simmers from his reading chair, his down-cast eyes. Anger, like a seep of creeping poison pollutes a room grown stale with swallowed words- much as a luscent pool becomes more loathsome, when choked with stagnant litter, like these hurts. Yet gradual, across my selfish sadness and indignance, comes a whispered surge- a call to sweet remembrance and forgiveness, a casual and careful white flag urge. Then my iced eye again will thaw to rain, and love will knead the granite core again. |

This was a mirror of words I just looked into. I'm going to have to start closing my eyes when I come here so that you can't read my mind. I love this. Richard xx |
