The Child of a Poet I watched it take form in the womb of the morning Carving its figure in deep early mist Before any shadow could darken its presence Before the sweet moment when lips would be kissed The child of a poet’s the child of the morning So tender and fragile, transparent in truth What other infant could render such beauty And dazzle the eyes with the splendor of youth I watched it take form in the womb of the morning Illusive as butterflies rare to be caught It lifted my pen from the deep shades of slumber Awakening me to the birth of a thought Elizabeth Santos |

You might actually have inspired me to try to get out of bed before 10! Beautiful Lizzie. |
