Truly Alive If what we desire Is truly the cause Of our deepest pain And our greatest joys Maybe it’s because of our fears That we put up the walls We’d rather live securely In our black and white world Than to walk out on a limb And experience all the colours That Life has to offer But when we choose Love Our hearts come alive With the amazing hope That maybe what we desire Is to be able to love another Without the boundaries Of past disappointments And allow ourselves to be loved When everything in our fragile Wounded hearts Is crying out for mercy So in the end It’s not whether we do it Or how often we do it But rather whether we embrace The courage that it takes to be.... ...truly alive. |

Always choose love and enjoy the colors of life, even if it may be accompanied by some pain. It's worth to dare to love and to dare to BE! Very nice poetic work and pondering. Love, Margherita |

purposeful words with noble intent, Walt. The greater the reward the greater the risk but also, the greater fear in getting hurt. Jeff |

A very touching poem about one of the Noble Truths of life. One senses experience and empathy behind your words. It's always good to read a poem that comes from the heart. |

Putting up walls is easy. Tearing them down...not so much. It's not so easy for a dog to roll over and expose his belly, hoping for a rub. But we have to do it to get the pat. Nice work, Walt. |
