To pull out stakes from heart and watch the leak of energy flow freely to the floor was the strangest thing I’ve ever done. ‘twas just a mental pull and tug with intent behind the force that left a large and empty hole where love was meant to be ~ and so then I believed that stakes removed can bring about love’s certain demise ~ but then I did not believe because I saw love still alive at the base of my belief. It trickled this way/that as if the floor tilted in accordance with the times but I know to wait till finally all the parts come back together and the winds of change are ready. And so that’s the way it goes a pull and tug, a flow, a trickle this way/that, and a wait for the return of the true state of heart! Helen |

"The true state of heart" I enjoyed the read, and in particular, the last stanza. It is always a pleasure to read your words. Thanks for sharing. Peace. "We'll chase them like rats across the tundra." |

Thanks, Andrew, Lindsay, and Whisperingwait. I suppose we must try what we can to love but at the same time remain detached from the feelings of others. Sometimes empathy can be more "stubborn" than love when it comes to ... a pull and tug. Helen |

Honeybunch - We're human and we like to tug and pull and let free flow. Leaving the stakes alone might be the lesson of the hour which for some might prove to be the Strangest Thing. I like this a lot. Namyh |

oh Helen...it is entombing, the demise of love...and yet, I remember the pain...the loss of energy..it is in fact all you describe...and vow, to never again revisit that place.... bittersweet and beautifully done, as only you can do... |
