Another day older and still nothing to show for it The fire burning low has become embers of regret The passion for which I fed to keep myself alive Has all but been drained out and again I am denied The pleasures of life, that ever reason to be Are now seemingly forbidden and held from me A wasteland of enigmatic days yet to run their course Like the darkness in some poem of ancient epic Norse I will do no penance for whatever that I feel For it is in these moments of life that I am healed I search for some other that understands the milestone Another somehow destined to yet always be alone No price too great to offer for absolution In every experience enjoyed in execution I would willingly pay however a silver piece One each for every ride on this restless beast |

I really enjoyed this. Sometimes we are just destined to be alone. The big thing to learn is the difference between being lonely and being alone. A lot of milestones can be celebrated in the company of one. |

Your poetry is filled with melancholy undercurrents and yet you always manage to keep the passion alive. Happy Day, Guy! |

"No price too great to offer for absolution In every experience enjoyed in execution I would willingly pay however a silver piece One each for every ride on this restless beast" ___________________________________________ You've left me speechless (for once LOL) but not quite, I'm still a chatterbox woman afterall ....This dark piece is incredibly powerful, In the past I have related to your words more than I can express, as I'm sure many have in the past or will relate now; and the last stanza is the most powerful, especially the last 2 lines! |

A most excellent read from start to finish. I bow to you and your's. "We'll chase them like rats across the tundra." |
