There came upon the fields one day many creatures from another land and all who saw marvelled in awe at how they sunk into the sand and then simply disappeared. The story went from man to son and from woman to daughter down generations not ever done but to this day no sight nor sound of what came and simply went. Some gave them names like happiness, safety and security, while others bravely called them love and retired quite content. Some not to be outdone thought up names from out the slums and shouted them from rooftops so all would worship more. But the slinky, sly, and devious remained hidden from the flock for all are sheep who follow nought to the edge of a precipice. Some fell down, some stayed up, and those who never went at all slumped in chairs by firesides to warm an inner chill. And from the upright warm within the tale of what came then went still passes like a tennis ball from one racket to another! Helen / 27 April 2010 |

I have the girls after school today, and they are going to love this one as much as I did. Well done! |

Thanks, Larry and Mysteria. I think "the serve" may go above the heads of the young but, in any case, it's all just a ... racket! ![]() Helen |
