Between the clinking of ice in my glass and the tapping of ashes from my cigarette, there is a sadness...a guitar playing soft and slow...a dragon-slaying and I lost the bet. |

I like the clinking of ice in the glass; I read this a few times. the first time I was thinking about some hooker at a casino, but then you mention a dragon slaying and then I lost my train of thought.. I think this poem left the clinking of ice in my brain. take care |

Rocks on almost every path, my friend, and if not rocks, then tree-roots, dips in the ground, dead animals --- whatever...always something to trip you up...the only total disaster though is not living anything. Give me life and somehow I'll survive the rest (albeit not painlessly - and speaking emotional pain here; make me a resident in the burn ward (or the like) of a hospital and I'd surely sing a different tune). Still. . . my preference (and easy for me to say, huh?) Definitely not uncaring though, my friend - not that for sure. j. |
