The Journey By Paul Wilson Our journey begins with the dawning of time Days consumed in darkness nights give way to eternal light Mind going round and round seeking the truth I’ve walked ancient paths with elders as they led the way thru the apocalypse long before my time on earth Books written in blood not included with the others Hidden from the masses their stories better left un-told Who’s to say what’s right or wrong Why weren’t we told of the secrets held within these books Left behind hidden from all but a chosen few or were they burned in sacrifice with the fire of disbelief by those before us Judgment day will come and all sins will be cast aside Those from before will sit beside the vision Those who have sinned will turn away and hide Books un-covered tell a different story one where there is no good or evil just words and stories of our past by those who were here before us Shall we follow the elders as they lead us back in time Walking the path of the apocalypse with them as we begin anew They will show us what was and what may never be thru their eyes The Raven flies overhead Patiently waiting… searching for the weak and lost souls along the way What will we leave for those that will come after we have gone Who will write our story who will walk the path of the apocalypse we have walked Fire erupts in the sky above the mountains as followers scramble down to the sea Black cloud from the East slowly covers the earth there is no light no hope The time has come ( or so it seems ) Mind going round and round will this journey end before all our hopes and dreams turn to dust along with our lost souls Release my soul I scream as the sky laughs at me Bruised and bleeding feet from the stone covered path I’ve walked force me to my knees I come upon an old man that has no legs or feet upon which to walk Smiling at me he says help me my brother help me get to the place we both seek then he is gone I am gone but know not where We are seekers of the truth on this journey thru life but the truth may never be found so we are left to our own beliefs as our mind goes round and round ~~To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you~~ |

very interesting ... well done! I am particularly fond of the ending: "We are seekers of the truth on this journey through life but the truth may never be found so we are left to our own beliefs as our mind goes round and round" applause for this 'penning' ! |

I am with 2ndhand on this one. There are sections that are brilliant and have great thought, then there are some stanzas that ramble a bit. and lose the power of your words in the center of this piece. I think with some careful editing, this could be 2 or 3 powerful poems rather than one that loses its impact in spots. GREAT read, very unique, there is much wisdom here, I will reread several times. I'm impressed. |

Dear Paul, it's good to read you and with such a profound piece of poetry. Yes, we are seekers and we have our beliefs. Many questions that go unanswered, but no one walks the Path alone, trust. We are loved, even and especially in dark times. Much enjoyed. Love, Margherita |
