If illusion means trying to catch the boat and elusive means to imagine that your boat will come in Then what is introduction and conclusion? How many toes would you cut off to trap that elusive goal? How many times would you exercise stress on those toes to catch the illusion? What are the sources of your strength? Someone held you and lied? Someone lied and you wanted them to be telling the truth. You may be caught up in your own web of deaf management. Don't give it all out despite what your heart tries to convince. It might just be you spinning a web across your own dreams. You are human and you are real and love can be your enemy. Oh, you want it so bad, you need it and life won't go on. Click the refresh button!!! You are always worth more than the one who lets you down...... Because you were willing to be there. NEVER! and I mean NEVER! sell yourself into emotional bankruptcy Beacuse you are so precious to you and only you. Don't destroy the only you you've got. Time will establish the real commitment. If you're still together with your mate at the end of your life. You have won nobel strength award and so has your finally realized loved one. Bravo! And thank you for this lesson in how to live a happy life, or how to combat the dreaded he/she done me wrong blues. Far too many are of the bent to desire above all else to be loved to the point of worship, and when they are let down, see through the lies, can't take it anymore, it is then time to blame everybody but the cad(ess) who is at fault. But their desire to be loved (worshiped) as befitting their image of themselves they find yet another lover to break their hearts, and then another, until eventually they decide that the opposite sex are, one and all, cads, highwaymen, witches, or just no damn good. Many, not all, of these wishing to be loved (worshiped) sometimes need to look within themselves. I speak from experience. I was one who blamed everyone except moi. Good stuff, Eric. ~ Life is sexually transmitted ~ |

Jerry That's just a great reply and it's so close to the wide picture of life. Sometimes we just become too focused on the immediate. Thank you so much for being here and understanding. Eric oxymoron....Rap Music |

You touched on something I've been trying to put into practice for a while. I recently explained that I started thinking about how emotional I've been all of my life, and how exhausted I am as a result. So each day I try to take some kind of inventory about how I feel. Few people ever ask, and I don't really think about my answers if they do. So yes, Karen now asks Karen how she is feeling today. Then I can set my emotional "budget" for the day. No one is ever completely off my list--but there are days when I simply can't afford them. So sometimes I have to say, "call me tomorrow." (If I take care of me, there's a better chance I can be a better person for them.) I love this poem. danke' |

Hi Ethome, It is overwheleming, tantalizing to love someone with illusions...Your poem is a jewel of psycholgy and strenght...I guess we are not what we are sometimes, but what we would like to be...Emotionnal world is strange and I would say unreal, a lot of people are lost in this world...Your poem keep the heart and head up, this is an helpful and accurate poem...Thanks for the magnificent tribute. yann |

I love your poem, Eric and the responses too, especially Karen’s – way to go Karen – I told you I noticed a difference in you lately – a glow in your poems and a freedom of spirit – and this must be why! I was married for 7 years and have been divorced for 37. I nearly married again several times, but regained my sanity in time (they weren’t the right guys – I have nothing against marriage if the couple are right for each other). I had many boy friends in my time, but none of them would have been right for me to marry. I have learned to live alone and love it – oh, boy the taste of freedom and independence is very sweet – but yes, it would be nice to have a man around sometimes – even all the time (perhaps), but we would have to be right for each other. Hi Baby Girl Sorry to read about your button. Thanks for the viisit and the read. Eric _________________________ Lori Thanks for the recognition of value on this one. Nice to have you visit as always. Eric ____________________________________ Karen I really enjoyed your reply. I think careful self examination is something most never consider until there's a crises of some sort. I like your idea of refining yourself so you can be a better person to others. That is a wonderful way to consider this write. Thanks for the comments and big hug for ya! Eric oxymoron....Rap Music |

Hello Yann I appreciate your consideration of this poem. I like this part of your reply... "Your poem keep the heart and head up, this is an helpful and accurate poem." I appreciate that perspective as that's what I was trying to get across. Thank you, very kind of you. Eric oxymoron....Rap Music |

Diana Many of us go through so many changes in a lifetime and we make mistakes. That's what this writing is about to a large extent. Stop blaming ourselves and get on with life. After all I can perceive by your writings that you've come to love your present existence and your dear animals. Your poetic words are tender and beautiful so that's wonderful. There's always someone worse off than we are and we can have the pleasure of assisting in some way or other. That's where I am, in love with the romance of life. Take care and keep the lovely poems coming. Eric the writer views a critic like a fire hydrant would view a dog |

Eric, I have gone though some pretty trying times lately - and conquered them all, I am proud to say. However, in the middle of a particularly stressful day, I realized that my emotions were keeping me from hearing what I had to hear. I know that adreniline does that to people when they are stressed and the rush of that adreniline impacts how the brain allows us to hear. I had to apologize to the person I was emotionally escalating with and tell him that I heard his words, but was not hearing the meaning behind them. I thought of this as I read your poem. I continually am learning to read my own emotions and to try to see how others perceive me if I am riding them too high. Anyway, thank you for sharing this. Alison |

Ida I thank you for those comments. I always appreciate it when you visit. Take Care and write on! Eric _________________________________________ Alison Because of the nature and content of your response I have to say you are a very honest and openly objective person. I really like a response like yours as it goes along with the content of this piece. You are a very open sweet person and maybe the pleasure of listening & lovingly understanding your own inner thoughts will bring you the peace you seem to bring to others. Dear Sunshine one. I'm sure many people feel the same way. I know many don't realize the impact of their situation on themself. However, not to be too cliche, we all live and discover. Many thanks for the many kind comments over the years and for your contribution to this fine site which would never be the same without you. It would be a site watered down beyond description. Eric |
