I called you Susanna today oh...I know you are a Suzy, and... just that it comes out that way because I still see you as Susanna you asked me if I ever saw you like the bride in father of the same and I told you no, but it wasn't so because I hide you behind your name Suzy's all grown up and doesn't conjure up the memories that I recall of what was and wasn't... of long-stockings and a favorite hat Susanna was my little, but grown-up gal while Suzy's grown up more than just a little more than I would like to admit for now as through the years I try to muddle through memories and bygone times of school days and fashion shows of nursery years and nursery rhymes of nickel toys and hair-top bows no longer pinks and mostly black the bows are gone, but not the hats just twenty-four days---then I give you away only one request and I hope it's okay I'll still call you Susanna, if you don't mind 'cause you'll never be Suzy in this old mind |

Lori, thank you...I've truly relived the Spencer Tracy/Steve Martin role (depending on your generation) a lot lately. In twenty-four days, I can concentrate on missing her for real...right now it's sometimes hard to distinguish the past from the present Faith, 'cause I'm such a tender guy ...he smiles sheepishly. Thank you for reading. I appreciate it. Juju, thank you for liking this...obviously, it is very close to my heart right now serenity, thank you...haven't had a chance to pang sweetly in a while...isn't that from the song..."sweet pang, you make my heart sang...you make everythang...groovy" (and for the children among us...groovy is still cool) |

Wonderful bit of inner relating, steavenr, and you did good. Bad English, but my heart was there, buddy. ~ Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day. Teach a person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks ~ |

Very touching Steaven I remember the day I gave mine away. It was a happy time for her and I looked at her the same way you are in this delightful fatherly composition. The memories of those times will always be there and they're soothing. Now I am awaiting the birth of my first grandchild and that will be another happy time. So it goes and we get to write about it. Wish her the best and congrats to her. Eric oxymoron....Rap Music |

Jerry, thank you...have re-written this several times and understand what you mean about the bad English...wasn't even going to post this, but found it necessary (at least, hopefully) to get the wrinkles out of it...thanks for commenting spiros, thank you for reading...I appreciate it Eric, thank you, but the sad part is that I’m not new to the wedding thing...My other daughter has been married for 15 years (and though it was difficult) I am sure that this one is harder because she is the baby...baby 25 years old...wow...thank you for the best wishes Owl, thank you for reading...and thank you for sharing your wishes for happiness |

Wishing your family every happiness and a joyful future for your daughter, It is hard to see your children strike out on their own, even under the best of circumstances. This poem is a great wedding present that I am sure your daughter will cherish always. Ida |
