You are magnificent a blazing light shooting across a dark sky giving those who catch a glimpse of your fading brilliance such false hope Alas, you are but a falling meteoroid with a short-lived trail of light. -Trina. |

Love the metaphoric switch of wishing upon a falling star only to know that it was only just a falling, burning rock, after all. Kudos, Jeff |

Thanx Faith. Thanx Lori, always a pleasure. Ah, indeed. Wishing upon a rock makes no sense, but it gives some people great joy. Theres no doubt though that it is a beautiful thing to witness. Thanx Jeff Thanx LateA. Ah, Thanx so much Garapan. -Trina. |

A disenchanted way to see the phenomen. As I am a romantic stargazer, the flashlike passage of a meteor remains a wondrous spectacle in the nightsky ... even a fraction of a second can imprint eternal beauty on the canvas of my soul. But I do understand your point of view. Well done. Love, Margherita |

..i don't know much about meteors .. but the poem works; it rises like a wave, lifting one lyrically; then, it settles down effortlessly..>>spiros |

There is a fatalistic element to this that cannot be missed. I think the contrast with the brilliant flare of initial hope and inspiration is a perfect let down. May all such disillusionment be so lovely! ·´~`·»Garapan«·´~`· "Look! Crumbs on his jacketses... Heeee took it!" |

I guess we all have to face reality at times but the beauty of a dream is something in itself. |
