HOW DO YOU KNOW? 11 February 2011 How do you know when the love or friendship is rock-real? Just as love and friendship take time to seed and grow the indications do too. Testing is breaking the faith and the love or the friendship. All you can do, is watch and wait and assess and consider and follow your gut-feelings, but if you do that well, you will know well. Love. Like a snake charmer playing for the cobra, hypnotizing it, lulling it into peaceful entity. Then abruptly closing the lid to its prison. Do you get a sense of angst concerning love, Owl? If so you are correct. Probably the most overused word in the English language. Except maybe "I'm sorry." But that is a phrase, not a word. Hah! ~ There's nothing worse than desiring more than you are desired.--Justine Cook / "Portrait" ~ |

No, Jerry. I don’t get a sense of angst about love, rather a sense of peace – of what I call love. I have my own philosophy about it which would take a book to explain. But, yes, I agree that it is the most misused word, and in my humble opinion, far more misused than the sentence, “I’m sorry.” Owl |

Oops, sorry Belle. Didn't see your message until I closed. Yes, I agree, that a real friendship is a very rare and beautiful bird. Thank you for loving my poems. I love yours too. I think you are a very gifted thinker and poet and free spirit, though I suspect that you don’t feel too free much of the time. However, in your poetry, you fly high and wide and free. Owl |

Belle, a "real nerd" is good. Totems - now that is very interesting. Thanks, Blues. I am impressed that that line stood out for you - not surprised, though. Smiles. You strike me as a person loyal to your friends. Owl |

"Go with your gut." That's one of my favorite sayings. Loved seeing that in your poem. Your work is beautiful and always a pleasure to read. This one is a gem. There must be a poem in here somewhere. |
