How reassuring is this tree, Its leaves went on holiday But it knows that they will return, These leaves ran away But he indicates a small sunken lane the one of a small Scottish cottage With its fireplace of red stones And its campfire without trouble, The happiness is simpler than the misfortune It is what tells us this tree Drawn by John Laporte in 19th century But perhaps in the 18th century Or an other imaginary and unpretentious century, how soothing is this tree, Near him the peace is victorious over the fears of the soul. |

A fine and educational piece, aoout the artist referenced and about trees, specifically deciduous. Oh, and about human nature, too. Kudos. |

Yann, I really loved the heart, soul, spirit and exquisite ponderings of this tree and this poem, all of which I wrapped around myself in comfort and delight. Strange thing, along with 3 other poems, last night I wrote a poem called, “Have you ever seen a tree?” – I wasn’t going to post it next, but your poem has inspired me to do so. It obviously does not apply to you – and that is a good thing – smiles. Owl |
