To live or die,
what do you deserve?
Cast away to nothing,
left to die
without reason
without cause
I couldn't sympathize
exiled, alone
and still you're standing
gratitude where anger should be
courage where fear should reside
graceful without self-pity
shattered but not broken
the world is cruel
but you take it all
gallantly
you appreciate life
the good - the bad
through it all you remain
tenacious, composed
you're better than me
you choose to live
and I envy you
The Lonely Stray.

Words to live by, however your poem makes me sad.
The peaks and valleys are part of life, it is our inner grace that sets us apart.

This is superb writing Trina.
All of it is very good but I loved these lines...Love how they make the title large.
