Written March 3,2006 As a child we were not made of money So instead of going to SeaWorld All we could afford Was to go to a place named Marineland It is a little park south of St. Augustine I have many a childhood memory of this place That is where I first started My love for dolphins I remember the dolphin show there They always played the song "Jump" By Van Halen And the dolphins would be jumping through The air to the song I also remember them letting Little kids go down and hold A hula hoop for the dolphins to jump through My cousin Micheal did this one year They also had another dolphin show Where they would be way up in the sky And hold fish for the dolphins To jump up high in the sky to get I loved the dolphin shows at Marineland I have pictures when I was 4 or 5 years old Smiling as I watched these shows 3 years ago they closed Marineland for renovations But this weekend they are opening up again Now it is gonna be a more interactive park You will be able to feed And throw footballs And go in a boat With a trainer To interact with the dolphins Which is cool to me And makes me very happy When the family is together, the soul is at peace - Russian Proverb |

We took our kids there many many times. It was a nice quiet plac and before Disney World. I loved the softness of it compared to all the other fast and furious places we took them.It has been sold I think, but still there.A lot changed in that area. latearrival |

latearrival, thank you for your comment. Yes, it is still there. You have to pay out the nose to swim with the dolphins though. But just to see the dolphins swim around and play it is only $5.00. At least the last time I was there. They are slowly building it up. When the family is together, the soul is at peace - Russian Proverb |
