the edge is shattered to the thin
darkness arrives inside your open
dread surrounds you, nowhere to sin
a bizarre summons served duly signed
don't be deceived of your history
cling to sanity but your thoughts slither
and the raven is callous and cruel
your mind has left, turned to smut.
be aware; in darkness think of the light
use your eyes for even they can speak
to a white-hot radiance which seeks your will
when reason stalks there is always a way
find a shadowy road where the mindless play
with silhouette's eerie you walk alone
each step you take you can't turn back
the edge of yourself is your destination
shadows and darkness twin escorts
up ahead a faint anticipation of light
one foot in front of the other
breath coming in like runaway rapids
you near the light and wonder
is it your salvation or a date in hell

Isn't she always doing just that? And aren't we always scrambling to please her incessant whining? A Way, indeed... A nice walk through the dark this was. Enjoyed.
