Love for one-another

A soul inspired by compassionate words
is a soul joined with a spirit of kindness.

The heart is thrilled by that very endeavor,
and sends it out on the wings of a dove
offering that inspiration to another,
and yet another, and again another

Until it finally returns, lighting a path
along the way, that path is love

That path needs no trimming or hedging
nor feeding nor watering,
it is truth and is strengthened within itself
when freely sent to the hearts of others,
and it will freely return.

Endure for one-another.
Be patient with one-another.
Have love for one-another.

Very nice--You did the topic justice, JL.

I have heard these words by different voices my whole life, and I believe that the human spirit knows what you say here in this poem is truth, as a natural, inborn edict...and yet I am haunted by the excuse of original sin that some people use to justify wars, and other unusual social events..capital punishment, and the stoning of adutresses to name only two.

And yet here you are, a poet
Camped out on the fringes of society
Wailing out your poet song
Screaming at humanity
Like the Youngbloods...

"C'mon people now,
Smile on your brother
Ev'rybody get together
Gotta'love one another right now"

ice, thank you, sir.
I wish I COULD sing, but I can't.
So I don't see a fit.

People are so different, some need excuses to
feel better about themselves, or feel that
they need to change the world toward their own bent.  War, no war...  I don't really care what stupidity does.  Politicians have needs for popularity, control, huge sums of money.

That ain't me neither...
I do pluck on my get-tar, but sing and play to the masses to change minds, nope...  They gotta want love, not need it, or have a need for someone to sing them a lullaby (with exception of children, or those with physical or other like needs) to make it all better.  In the words of that famous
philosopher "Cable Guy"  just get-er done...
You either love or you don't.  I think it's
a choice.  No excuses, just shut-up and do it. LOL.  But hey, that's me...

I'll do my best to love anyone, until they
require it, make demands, or expect it without like reciprocation.  Been there done that, got the T-shirt, the ball cap, and the lapel button...

My faith is not in mankind, but I love mankind.  Animal-kind.  If God created it
it's got to have extremely great value.
Some just don't get it.

Wow... when I read this I had in mind a candle lighting ritual I saw once... starting with one candle lighting another, and spreading throughout the auditorium, turning the pitch black darkness into a beautifully lit room with an almost magical essence.  Very inspirational words, JL.  Thank you.
