I feel the heat of being slowly dwindling inside where the words are hid inside flues and shadows hovering above dying and boring poems can't live forever so Dorian found out ugly underneath a razor-blade-sharp smirk the graveyard of unwritten unseen poetry there is something slightly tarnished a thing called love a soft glow trying to give heat and pleasure and meaning to the cobwebbed poems and I know if it can be done she is the one where are my galloping ghosts of Ichabod who tell stories of my hideous mother-love where are my not-so-innocent childhood dreams now that all my poems are gone ©January 13, 2012 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways ~*~ |

Yeah, thank you Lori. This was one of those poems that entered my head and directed my fingers to the keyboard and wrote itself. Eh, more or less. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways ~*~ |

I don't think the ghosts ever go away...maybe the motivation to manifest them gets blurred or buried or pushed away....but they are never completely gone...I'm sure of it~ ~write-on, Mr. Pat, write-on~*~

Baby Girl, I know you are right, and sometimes these ghosts are all we have to hold onto. I have conquered my demons, but my ghosts live on . . . ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways ~*~ |

"where are my not-so-innocent childhood dreams now that all my poems are gone" Very good write, Jerry. Especially enjoyed the thoughts that went into that last line. JL Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. |

Yeah, sometimes I think all my poems are gone in a way. So many, especially the early ones make me cringe when I reread them. I refuse to rework them because that was me at the time, just trying to get a handle on this poetry writing stuff. Appreciate you continued support, buddy. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways ~*~ |

Some ghosts need to cross over and be healed. Love does that too, JP. I'm happy for the love you have found and hope the ghosts are put to rest. Ms. E |

Wow, this is nearing on being haunted by love and longing for the return of misery... I knew I'd find something darker from you if I looked deep enough. Liked this one I did. Michael |

Michael, until recently all I wrote were dark poetry. I'm in love. I write what I feel, and right now dark doesn't fit. I still try to mix my poetry up, but I'm not the same person I was six months ago. So if dark is what you seek from me, good luck. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways ~*~ |

Perhaps I was projecting some of my own dark longings in there... I would not wish you to ever have to go back to the darkness, Jerry. Ride that wave man! Michael |
