The cold air rushes through my lungs leaving a cold chill inside of me, but i do not mind, there are thoughts to be thought of tonight, the fresh air clears my throbbing mind. as i walk i feel the autumn leaves all shades of red, orange, and yellow crush underneath my feet making a curious crunching sound, i pause turn around and look just in time to see the golden remains dissipate in the night breeze, i turn my gaze up towards the heavens spot various stars and a big yellow harvest moon. my mind starts to wander, and painful memories flood my mind i ask myself why? but remind myself there are thoughts to be thought of tonight. as if on cue a sudden gust of wind sends the dead leafs fluttering into the air into a mad and frantic frenzy, swirling, spinning, spiraling down in a demented dance of sorts the wind emits a final howl and ever so slowly lays the dead the beautiful dead to an eternal rest. i head for home and silently pray for at the very least a final lunatic dance with madam death before she lays me down to rest, but best of all i feel at peace. |

That last dance of the autumn leaves is always so deeply inspiring indeed. And your beautiful poem is the proof that a walk such as yours is always inspiring and healing too. You are at peace. Enjoyed walking along with you, Richard. Margherita |
