brought down to earth
words sting like a bee
they echo in the hurt
ringing inside our ears
in continuous motion
oh, how we anticipate
hope for the inevitable
and wholly inaccessible
prospect of false hope
humans are nothing less
seeking pain and distress

This is spoken of By old King Solomon.
You probably didn't realize it, but you
are speaking to what is said in Ecclesiastes
1:14 thru 1:18.

Great job Jerry.  I'm with you on this, Jerry.
Excellent insight!

No, JL, I had no idea, but I will check out Ecclesiastes 1:14 thru 1:18. Thanks for the information and your comments.

Heavy stuff, Jerry.

Made me think of this:

"Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune--without the words,
And never stops at all"
(Emily Dickinson)

I hope that I never lose hope,
and hope you do the same.

Thanks Ice, and I remember reading that Dickinson quote many years ago, and you have brought the place and the girl back into my memories. She was trying to interest me in poetry, however, I was much more into getting those petticoats off her than reading poetry. Petticoats? Damn! That aged me big time.

Apathy and silence, with fleet feet, and not a backward glance can make one almost wish for the sting just so one knows he/she is still breathing. Your thoughts this morning left a sting in my eyes...settled in my throat like anaphylactic shock.

I'll have to look up those Bible references, too.  Some profound words here.

Thanks, tracie66, for your kind words this day,

<><>

Hah! I hear what you are saying about just so you know you're still breathing. Appreciate the time you took to read and comment on my little poem.

Thank you, bel1e . . .
