The misting rain is dismal and gray But I don’t mind it being that way As the ending of another year. I watch the beginning twilight As the dark dissolves into light Marking the ending is near. What has marked these miles Greater than a lack of smiles As a tribute to coming fears. It won’t be for lack of gold Or continued winter cold It will be the pool of tears. There has always been a lack of touch Something that I still miss too much. Gloom |

A lack of touch, a year that ends, A smile's reward in words to friends. Though not the touch that one can feel It's thoughts to hold, (though not ideal). Remembering the good and bad, The new to come, to lessen sad To spirit lift, if only words To feed the need (you're not unheard). Wishing you a Happy and Safe New Year M |

I was going to try to have some lovely, poetic response - but your poem and M's reply...well, what left is there to be said. Your ache in this stretches through time, and is felt here. |

The things which cause us to be sad about seems to visit us more often than the happiness guru. Nice work. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~*~ |
