the mackanah was red and blue plaid
with a bullet hole in the shoulder
from the robber man down at daisy's bar

the healing was done by momma marge
with her needling ways of sewing skin
like it was comfy socks needing mending

denver wears the bullet in a chew sack
round his neck next to the jesus cross
that ginger gave him after graduation

before she gave him a son named montana
and urges sometimes to quit the star job
and give ginger pretty things and easy

like the zeta boys do from inside folsom

What a story! My head is on a spin when I try to understand everything, but when I let go and just absorb the poetic highlights in every single line, then the full fragrance of this expands in all its power.

Ms Mar....a deputy friend of mine...works so hard to keep his lady in comfort and the inmates he guards spend more on drugs than he makes in a year...thanks lady

I really like this poem and like it even more after reading your response to Margherita. Sad. No, it's not sad. It's criminal and pathetic. Not that I have an opinion or anything.
