LEANING HEAVY

Leaning heavy
into my heart…
My mind brings you
often
to my lips;
I pray for you…
Son of my soul,
Son of my choosing,
lean all you want—
I listen for you to speak,
however silently
or boisterously,
Wishing for you to shed
the demons—
To embrace them only
to the edge
where you may throw them over
and regain your footing…
May your comfort be absolute.
May your experience be intense;
Love is worth every risk.

Oh boy. Is this one ever from the heart and with a wonderful, personal message. I've been there with the demons. It took some mental strength, but I threw them over the cliff. Thank you for your wonderful, heartwarming poetry, dgvarner,

I need to share this poem with a friend of mine.  I think he should fold it and slip it into his wallet.  I think it will speak to him as it has to all of us.

Welceome home.
