I'd forgotten how inspiring it is to be around poets, thanks for reminding me

From my cocoon that’s dark and drear
I will emerge - I’ll still be here
Not trapped within my husky shell
Not kept forever in this hell
Not waiting, waiting to begin
I shall emerge and I shall win
This pain of growth entangles me
But I will grow, for it must be
I’ll find a path through pain to hope
Not die but find a way to cope
Although this place makes me feel ill
I’ll learn from it and grow until
This darkened space MUST set me free
Then I will fly , becoming ME!

A poet must leave traces of his passing not proof.

Excellent and enlightening poetry on the positive side, which is a big plus when you are trying to fight your way out of the darkness.

This line stood out for me.
