disconsolate drama set on center stage with star-like talents rising o’er the playbill’s horizon like sun-chariots ascending an Andean incline “all the world’s a stage”, or so says the bard of yore while melancholy brews her morning caffeine stimulating bit-parts in opening acts rehearsals forbidden when legs don’t break never knowing which act follows which or even if intermission’s allowed when tickets are bought o gatekeeper, gatekeeper lend me an intro so the orchestra can play a pit-cropped melody set to libations spawned from word-sprung wells curtains rise and fall to encores’ debuts mingling sorrow and joy in life’s incessant run and the theater fills with both actor and spectator never knowing the what from the which without a program printed by no one knows whom with lines for the reading in a part not played, but lived |

The Bard of yore knew a few things, steavenr. This poem hearkens me back to the old saying, you can't tell the players from the watchers. Well, actually I cloned that old saying with one of my own. ~ Good health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die. ~ |

Now Steaven, this receives from me the IWIHWT comment. Because, it's true. |

![]() I was thinking about this while watching Carrie Fisher's special which is a humorous look at her sometimes painful past--"Wishful Drinking". She says: "If my life wasn't funny it would simply be true--and that is completely unacceptable." And I suspect that's applicable to just about everyone. (Ask questions of the quiet people--they usually have the BEST stories.) Enjoyed. ![]() |
