thimble not
your graceful garden
with blessings
your giving of yourself
is wider an oasis's privilege

Took a second reading, Spiros, to capture the essence of this wise bit of five lines of total harmony. Yes, a thimble full is no match for all of yourself . . .

~*~ He did not wear his scarlet coat,
For blood and wine are red,
And blood and wine were on his hands
When they found him with the dead--Wilde ~*~

..Jerry, my friend, thanks for your comment--(thanks for reading)..the way i see it,
the blessings are the thimble and the garden
is the finger..and then there's the ending: your giving of yourself is wider an oasis's
privilege..thanks..>>spiros

Ah, well, that's what it means then, Spiros, but unless the meaning is perfectly clear to the reader, then whatever he or she thinks of it is true to the poem. At any rate, I enjoyed reading it.

~*~ He did not wear his scarlet coat,
For blood and wine are red,
And blood and wine were on his hands
When they found him with the dead,--Wild

A highly significant poetic message, dear Spiros, to take to heart.

Spiros, my friend,

it did not take me two reads
to see into the essense and
spirituality of this beautiful
winding of words...

I think I know you that well,
and yet I know so little...

be as that may, what you said
truly took my breath away, with an
oh wow escaping my lips.

Thank you for bringing life to
this very moment.

always,

Sunshine

Well, Sunshine, some of us are slower than others. Even after my second read I still didn't get it. Dense. That's me.
