I watched her undress like one watches the kitchen table fill with dozens of meals each and every day Her hair reminded me of how I learned to run for hours, endlessly How the sky would open up as the light perished into a dust so grey the caves of the far east welcomed its way I watched her undress until the tomatoes of the harvest began to rise and the soil of the ground became so moist Until she saw me rest my eyes upon her. |
