Great Times Wait!

Memories of days of yore
Are sometimes, sad and poor
But sometimes, the great times wait
We can only hope, not too late.

We can think of things we didn’t do
Some things said, twixt me and you
Or, about some things that we did
Some of them known, and those hid.

Great times wait, as I write rhyme
And count down, my days of time
And think of all those things undone
As I wait for, that great, that one.

None could know, what’s in my mind
And too, in my heart, that same kind
Of, great times that wait, far too long
But, what can I do, but, play along.

The days, months, years, quickly pass
As I look forward, say, “Alas!
Great times wait, for what will be!”
As, I hope the wait, will end, for me.
