He watched her play along the road of never after. The place that people said they saw shadows Run to the hills, only to never return. Her long black hair Off the buildings brick face Swinging along the suns rise Where the swans were seen Pedaling along with their beaks Facing the Western wind. She played until the bridge To the right of her Dampened with the night The ease of her sweater Began to loosen with the wind Of the starry night, And as it got darker She became one with each layer of black With the skin of the sky Holding her body afloat With her sweet shadow Following her each step of the way Until another morning From my window seal Between the field and the sky I watched her body Translate to the night That it was time for the sun to rise again. |

I have often told pupils, readers, children from my Poetry Club at a children's home, that one doesn't need to understand poetry or music to love it. Tomer, you are a master poet, and this is a masterpiece amongst your other masterpieces. It is 2.20am and I am tired. I didn't understand too much of this on first reading, as well others may not - but I was swept away with the haunting beauty of it and the fascination and wonder of a story. I am certainly going to be reading this over and over - and possibly not going to understand it any more than I do right now - and that is probably a part of its fascination. Thank you for weaving such enrapturing magic. Owl |

Owl, truly appreciate your beautiful comments. It means a great deal. I'm happy you took so much from this piece. It is a great escape to have an imagination and simply run with it. Take care Cheers |
