alone sometimes that word screams but can't be heard that's when you know the silence is you sentenced unto a prison without bars all you have are regrets all you can do is look back relive history shake your head at the mistakes the many mistakes you made along the way alone but . . . every so often alone is visited by happiness another soul who needs you for their own particular reason shows you warmth and you . . . you greedily reach for it eagerly and desperately trying to feel not alone knows it will soon be gone doesn't matter what does it matter? take what is offered, reach out for it as would a drowning man stretch his hands out for a lifeline for awhile alone has joy this wonderful somebody who will make him not alone he takes it savors it putting aside precious moments for later when he is again . . . alone ©November 13, 2011 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways ~*~ |

To anyone who comments on this decidedly whinny poem, I, in my defense, can only say, it has been one of those weekends. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways ~*~ |

First thing I will reach out with a warm hug across the world ((((Jerry)))). Your aloneness has produced a poignant poem to which I think many can relate and in sharing your thoughts there is reaching out. Besides that you are also aware of the precious gift of someone who brings happiness which softens future moments of loneliness. And this is positive thinking, which is bound to bring more positivity ... As for the "mistakes" you mention, we should think of them as experiences that were necessary to forge us and to make us evolve into the beings we are now. So in the end the consequences are not to be considered negative. Thought provoking piece, which touches the heart. Love and peace. Margherita |

Margherita, I wish I could hug your neck. Thank you for your overwhelmingly kind and thoughtful words. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways ~*~ |

I'm with Margerhita Jerry. And you are never really alone when some one cares for you because they hold you in their thoughts. Lori |

I read this last night, but was too deep in my own alone to comment coherently (anniversaries of loss lead to too much contemplation and just aren't any fun). You do have to savor the precious moments... they're what sustains us. ((((HUGS)))) |
