as far as the eye could see Desperado could see further he lay a-dying of thirst beside a sparkling lake man-made, stocked with fish can't move his withered body twenty feet to drink of it Desperado, naked and gaunt wears his Colt six-shooter on bony hips strength for one more draw he fondled his weapon of choice felt it rising like it has always done he grinned a blistered, cracked lip grin closed his eyes, remembering hand moved from weapon of choice wrapped his fingers around the Colt to free it from its scabbard where would Desperado aim it ©November 11, 2011 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways ~*~ |
