A week after eternity is now, The old ones did foretell a coming doom. The girl and I know only pain, no Tao, We cling to each other as in the womb. The fire that we keep burning is our shrine, A clinging mist hovers o'er day and night. Gloom and anguish fill all our waking time, This is my ledger and of things I write. Where light shines not in this land of forgot, Dark shadows lurk as we pray in our grotto. Our skin begins to loosen, soon to rot, Life is cruel, there is no joy, only woe. The world came to an end to our great shock, We pray to the Saints all night until morn. To no gain, they tried to warn, now they mock, They laugh and point at us, heaping on scorn. We are alone, no one else is alive, The girl and I will save the world we pray. We have done our best, the earth to revive, We had the romance dance, baby due; May. ~*~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways ~*~ |

Ah, what a conclusion, dear Jerry, to this cynical, yet powerful write. Indeed hope cannot be lost as long as there is new life allowed to sprout on this Earth. We do have the power in our hearts to bring new joy into this world, we use it seldom though. But it is possible and you too have shown this truth often through your poetry and your generous comments. Very thought provoking. Love and peace. Margherita |
