tomorrow's promises are fragile
yesterday's broken and dismal
like droplets of rain
merging together to form a stream
merging with other promises
disappearing into the gutter
lost in an endless pool of
shattered pledges of eternal
something-or-other
yesterday's shattered words
spoken in the intensity of the moment
means less than it takes time to utter it
a moment wasted
can never rescue that moment
to relive it
so . . .
squander not your time
either listening to or speaking
broken words
waste time at your peril
for what you are losing
is the stuff of which life is made of

And woe to the man who believes his own misspoken promises.

Some very harsh truths in this one.

Well done.

"squander not your time
either listening to or speaking
broken words"

Good advice, Mr.

JL

I seem to remember a quote that went something like. "I have wasted time and now time doth waste me." Enjoyed your wisdom.
