I look at your picture and you look back,
My heart is wrapped within your deep warmth,
I send to you from afar gentle attachment.
Such a lovely face, cheerful is your smile,
It warms my old heart thought to be cold.
I drink from your portrait life's tender touch,
And thirst no more, you have quenched my need.
Within my wintry years you've given me spring,
And all this comes from a photograph of you.
As I stumble and ache toward tomorrow's morn,
When I think of you my heart is aflame.

Morning, Lori. Yeah, I break down and go soft ever so often. Thanks for always being here.

I just commented on EA's new photo and then I saw your "Photograph", which is very lovely indeed. I am a "photo-fan" and so I do understand how it can affect us.

Enjoyed your soft side too here.

A photograph captures the essence of you, and in some cases it is seen in your smile. Thank you, Margherita.

It's amazing the spell an old photograph can hold over a person.  An enchantment that has the power to both warm one inside, yet inspire the worst of aching and fear.

Nice write.

You are correct, Michael. I used to hang around Juarez, Mexico back in my young, wild days, and the Indian people that had mixed with the Spanish people wouldn't let you take their picture with a camera. They said it robbed them of their soul.

They will come back, come back again,
As long as the red earth rolls.
He never wasted a leaf or a tree,
Do you think he would squander souls?
