Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Autumn afternoons
when light is cast in yellows
upon greens now reds
and umbered oranges
Unseasonably warm
its  beguiling  and still
Indian summer
I believe they call it
The foreshadowing
of a cold front
always on its hot heels
as weather and season
crisscrosses
my mid western plain

Beautifully done, Lori. The autumn is my favorite time of the year, Summer's heat has left us and although it is a harbinger to the frigid winter it is still a welcomed relief from the heat. Wonderful work.
