sometime I write my poems as a sonnet I write haiku, but mostly senryu like this one, I also get into free style I dabble in other forms of poetry with good and bad results matters not the form whether I rhyme or whether I capitalize each word in a line or use lowercase formatting is for scholars I write for you the words I pick and peck out on the keyboard are meant for your eyes yes some poems are close to my heart and they are all my babies you can make the case they are all for me they are not I send these bits of Jerry toward those who find my words readable your thoughts when reading a poem of mine is like an invisible, hushed room your connection to my poetry is comparable to an ever-flowing stream of consciousness some are to the heart confessions of mine a vessel I must set sail down that treacherous stream I write of love unrequited and those loyal to my heart those are like whispers on a sandy beach my words but grains of sand among the other millions poems of love whether I write about the moon which I do from time to time it fascinates me to no end I open inner sanctum doors to my basement of horrors and internal combustion shocking some others lifting their clenched fist a right-on sign of approval this prods me onward feeds my ego we all need that ego fed a poet's voice echoes in darkened alleys can be masterful in a glittering ballroom or passionate to a pair of lovers I write I write words that hopefully find readers because, quite simply I write for you ©October 18, 2011 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~* If they give you lined paper, write the other way. ~*~ |

"yes some poems are close to my heart and they are all my babies you can make the case they are all for me they are not I send these bits of Jerry toward those who find my words readable" And when you do share your words all who examine each verse are rewarded for the reading. You are a richly gifted poet, my friend. JL Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Love your neighbor as yourself. Maranatha! |
