I chanced upon God. He ducked behind a parked vehicle. I was determined to talk to Him. I had things to say. I walked around the vehicle. There He was. I zigged. He zagged. I lost him in the crowd of Islam worshipers. (c)October 17, 2011 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~* The saddest words of tongue or pen are the words It might have been.--John Greenleaf Whittier ~*~ |

I love your ending...well and the beginning too. This is deeper than it first appears. Lori |

I'm glad you figured out that there was a little more to the poem than first thoughts. The world is in a desperate struggle with Islam. They are winning. They almost have Europe and are weakening America. ~* The saddest words of tongue or pen are the words It might have been.--John Greenleaf Whittier ~*~ |

The way I see it, God is God is God whatever we choose to call Him/It/Her. It is what we do in the name of God that gets US ALL screwed up. Some of the worst things known to mankind were done in the name of God. Don't get me started on the evils of religion...Thats why I liked your poem..it struck a nerve. |

JerryPat - It looks as though He either didn't want to talk then or just maybe He was testing to see if you would follow him into that crowd so you could. Whoa! Now there's a poser, especially since He has a biblical history of tempting us first. This was original and creative JP and I liked the intellectual zig and zag of it. Makes you think. Namyh |

Haha! You could very well be right, Namyh, and He was testing me. I failed the test sad to say. Maybe next time. Thank you for you very nice things you said about the poem. ~* The saddest words of tongue or pen are the words It might have been.--John Greenleaf Whittier ~*~ |
